Are you looking for a quality straw hat or black felt hat? Our hats are made by a local Amish hatmaker, for use by the Amish community. Almost all of his hats end up on an Amishman’s head.

Our straw hats are made from woven rice straw, in various Amish homes as a cottage industry. The hats are then brought to the hatmaker for the final touches, such as the sweatband, etc. We include the standard black ribbon and bow, but they are not attached. Our black felt (dress) hats are made from fur felt, and are available in three different styles. The plain-top (flat-top) hat has a crown that has been shaped, but is a simple flat top. The telescope-top hat also has a shaped crown, with an extra groove around the top of the crown. This hat is a bit fancier, and is more like the western gun-slinger hats. The open-crown hat has a crown that has not been shaped. It has a slightly rounded dome, and is the most desirable for customers who want to shape the crown of the hat to their own taste.

All of our hats have a cloth sweatband inside the brim. Unless otherwise noted, our standard brim size is 3 1/2 wide. However, other brim sizes may be available. See what a true Amish hat feels like, and order your hat today.
